QUALITY ASSURANCE ASSISTANT MANAGER
ROLE & FUNCTION
To manage and maintain the quality standards and performance requirements as laid out in the respective Global Quality Manuals through Quality Assurance and control processes. And to assure the quality of raw material used as well as manufacturing quality through in-line inspection processes and finally to the assurance of finished goods shipments through AQL inspections. To ensure that the customers quality requirements are met and satisfied.
RESPONSIBILITY
- To align the local PC Quality Strategy with the Global Quality Strategy and ensure local implementation of both;
- To manage the raw material inspection, color matching and testing facilities;
- To escalate deviations in raw material quality to the relevant internal departments and where appropriate to external Head Office support functions;
- To manage the hourly and daily quality inspections in-line;
- To ensure that the quality requirements of the Article Description are interpreted and acted correctly by production supervisors and operators as well as those responsible for quality inspections;
- To ensure that the Roving Quality Control System, end control inspections (or batch control where appropriate) and AQL finished goods inspections are carried out correctly and thoroughly and implement the Product Safety and Label Policies;
- Using daily quality meetings, to ensure that by reviewing the quality data, action is taken to correct quality problems and that the resources of the quality team are used in the areas of most need, pursuing a policy of “right first time”;
- To make decisions on acceptability or not, of quality issues arising in production;
- To make use of Root Cause Analysis when managing investigations into internal or customer/consumer quality complaints and secure corrective actions, and so preventing reoccurrence;
- Ensure that the quality targets as established in the Production Centre, are known by all concerned and achieved, with particular regard to 0% defect shipments;
- To set quality targets for production operators and ensure compliance to those targets through regular assessment and review;
- To manage the quality inspectors in all areas, taking due account of training needs, ability and capacity requirements and where appropriate to organise training where a need is recognized;
- To manage weekly fitting sessions of production garments to ensure that not only does production comply with quality and technical requirements but also that the fitting standard of production is maintained when compared to the approved sample or sealed garment;
- To assure and verify technical and quality compliance at the introduction of new lines, before bulk production starts;
REQUIRED SKILLS
1. Education
- Vietnamese with University Degree in garment industry, or other related.
- Good at English communication;
- Good computer knowledge in MS Office and Lotus Notes;
2. Experience in QA
- At least 3 experienced years in the role of Quality Manager in the clothing industry, preferably in Intimate Apparel/Lingerie;
- Sound technical knowledge of garment construction i.e. sewing techniques, motion time analysis, in achieving required quality assurance;
- Understand Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems and processes;
- Understand systematic manufacturing processes, effective garment production system, and customer’s quality requirements;
- Technical skills: garment production, quality management and Line Planning and balancing knowledge;
3. Skills
- Good interpersonal skills;
- High flexibility for mobility (preferable);
- Strong leadership and good organizational skills;
- Good analytical and problem solving skills;
- Tenacity, strength of character;
- Good communicator, reporting both “up” and “down”;
4. Working location: Thai Nguyen Province.
