JASON STEEL – DIRECTOR OF STUDIES (Acting)
Jason Steel gained a First Class BA (HONS) degree from Northumbria University, Newcastle, UK. He was invited to attend the Royal College of Art, London, where he was awarded the Diana, Princess of Wales Bursary from the British Fashion Council. On graduating he won the RCA prize for ‘excellence and craftsmanship.’ His work has been exhibited in Europe and China.
He has taught at leading design schools in the UK, as well as Beijing, Taiwan and Singapore. You will find Jason easy to get on with and very encouraging of students who want to explore new ways of working.
VIVIANE PEARSON- DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
Viviane is a specialist in fashion design and product development. She has over 20 years educational experience in UK Universities, as Senior lecturer, Course leader and as Head of Fashion for BA degree courses. In addition to lecturing and directing, she has been involved in the writing and development of Design Degree courses.
She has worked as a designer and design consultant in the International Fashion Industry, designing women’s wear ranges for various UK and European Fashion companies.
She graduated from Central St Martins College of Art and Design London, with a Masters Degree in Design Studies. Her areas of expertise are in Fashion Design, Research and Development, Modelling and Draping, Pattern Technology, Fabric Study and Fashion Promotion and Communication.
MAY CORTAZZI – FASHION DESIGN LECTURER
May has graduated from the University of Northumbria and obtained a Master degree in Fashion Design from the Nottingham Trent University. She’s been working in fashion industry since the year 2000 both for high-end labels as well as develop her own label in all areas including design, sales and marketing and production. She has achieved many awards from fashion industry such as Green Business Award by Derbyshire Chamber of Commerce, Nottingham Creative Business Award by Nottingham City Council and shortlisted for UK Fashion Entrepreneur Award organized by the British Council. May has taught students on fashion programs since 2004 in the UK and Indonesia and Thailand. She’s also been experience in International exhibition and international catwalk shows.
KATHLEEN CORDINA – PATTERN TECHNOLOGY LECTURER
Katy Cordina obtained a first class honours degree from the University for the Creative Arts in the UK. She also gained a post graduate certificate in innovative pattern cutting from Central St. Martins and was trained in modelling by the late and infamous Hieron Pessers. Katy has worked for Vivienne Westwood, Ben de Lisi and Zandra Rhodes. As an academic, she has worked at Leeds College of Art and Design, UK, University of Economics, Izmir, Turkey and taught creative pattern cutting on the island of Mauritius.
ROBERTO ERCOLE – FASHION BUSINESS LECTURER
Mr. Roberto Ercole has gained a Masters Degree in Marketing and Business Communication in Italy with studentships in the United States and Ireland. He also has worked for 10 years in marketing department within Fashion Industry in Italian multinational companies. He has also taught many Fashion Marketing subjects in colleges in Italy and Thailand.
LÊ THỊ NGỌC UYÊN –GARMENT CONSTRUCTION LECTURER
Ms. Uyen obtained a Master degree in Textile and Garment Technology from the Hanoi University of Technology. She also has extensive experience of working in fashion industry as a product developer/merchandiser for European and USA companies. She is fluent in English and speaks Chinese. She has been a lecturer at LCFS since 2004, and teaches Pattern Cutting, Fabric Study, Garment Construction.
